Onlyoneofme7 Drawing

Hey I’m back, and finally finished with the drawing of YouTuber Todd. Yaay! It took a while, but I’m satisfied with the outcome! For this, like I mentioned before, half is done in sketch style, and half is detailed. The page I used was 11x14 and the reference pictures didn't have a whooole lot of details, so it's not as realistic as I was at first imagining. But I'm still pleased. And this was the first time I did a drawing like this (half & half).

Hey I recently did some work for a youtube celeb Alexyss K. Tylor for her new book Vagina Healing with Your Man. And I wanted to post it on my blog.

She contacted me about a year ago (exactly) when she saw the youtube video that I put up on my channel of her blogtalk radio show Firestorm Oracles. In the videos I had a digitally colored drawing of her that I did so I used that as the visual for the video. She saw it and asked me if I could illustrate the images in the book for her. I called her and spoke to her and we agreed on what I was going to draw. Shortly after however, I had to relocate from the apartment I was staying at and a few silly mishaps occurred and I didn’t want to keep miss Tylor waiting on her illustrations, so I decided that I just wouldn’t do them. So I told her in a message that I wouldn’t be able to. So that was it. So a year later she was still telling her watchers that she needed an artist. So now that my skills have increased, and I want the money, I did a sample sketch of an illustration for her. The book is a sexually oriented book. It’s kind of like the Kama Sutra, but much more in-depth pretty much. Not just the sexual parts but the spiritual parts of sex as well. Either way she was going to have sexual positions involved lol.

The drawing didn’t really take as long as other drawings, because it’s not super detailed. But I don’t think she wanted photorealism necessarily. Anyway, she went with another artist this time around. But I like the result of the drawing.

Weekend, Dream, & New Drawings

Weekend

I had a nice weekend. I went with my bro to see the new movie Lottery Ticket with Bow Wow, Brandon T. Jackson, Ice Cube, and Loretta Devine in it, and I must say I was rather disappointed and wouldn't recommend others to see it. I wanted to walk out and ask for my money back within the first fifteen minutes probably. And it was very predictable, the acting was weak and the storyline was cartoony, even for a comedy. I got a few Cheap laughs in though, so at least it was worth a little of something. The way the story moved along didn't even make sense and it was just awful, I was so glad when it ended. Aside from that, I visited a few family members, and talked with them about stuff going on right now. Blah blah.

Dream – 8.23.10

Last night I had a weird weird dream, and the weirdest thing about it is, it was like several dreams in one. And I don't mean those weird transitions to one place to another, I mean it was like one dream happened and then something totally different was happening, and on and on, and it's also strange, because now I don't really remember any of it. Egh. I know it had something Satanic in it, like the church of Satan or whatever, but I don’t even feel like delving into it.

 

New Drawings

Now onward to art. I’m working on two new drawings right now. Two that I’m focusing most attention on. One is a PORTRAIT of a Youtuber “Onlyoneofme7” aka: “only” and I get kind of randomly inspired, so I guess that’s part of the reason I’m drawing him. I don’t draw people based on who I like, who is popular, who is sexy or good-looking, no, I draw from what inspires me, that could be someone I DON’T like, or someone I LOVE or someone that I simply took a picture of the day before. They can be pretty, unpretty or whatever. That’s kind of how I work (right now). So I was watching one of his videos one night and just wanted to draw him. For his, I’m going to use two styles in one drawing, where one half will be in “sketch” form and the other in “detailed” form. Just for a little contrast. Haven’t done it before. I find myself really trying to challenge myself lately.

 

 

Next is a SCENE drawing of one of my original characters from a story of mine. A dear story. And this one is particularly tricky because I am doing the more important parts of it from imagination, and I don’t often draw from imagination, but mostly from reference. It’s easier for many artists that I know, including myself. So like I said I’m challenging myself these days. I stayed up a loooonngg time this morning starting it and getting the part done that I have so far. But I was determined to at least get some of the basics done.

August 18th Updates & Song in my Head

Just a quick update. I just finished talking on my mom's new radio show on BlogTalk Radio. Her first topic was about the young mother Shaquan Duley, who recently killed her children by drowning them in her car in South Carolina. It's a shame that it happened, but in the show she basically talks more about the pain someone feels that pushed them to such extreme measures, as oppose to be a simply evil person. So! I am working as her producer, and I think a lot of people will like them show and enjoy it. In fact I feel very much inspired to do my own show. But mine would probably just be me ranting for a few minutes about different topics. Probably a discussion or something. Not surrre. But it was inspiring nonetheless. I'm of course now working on a new logo and artwork for her show. I want to make it somewhat personal to her. We'll see what comes to my minndd. I'm still working on new drawings and new commission pieces. As well as working on illustrations that could be used at Hitrecord.com for any of the artists there. I like to make contributions where I can =P

The song in my head for tonight! A beautiful song by Jem. She is such a great artist, a true artist. She seems so at peace with herself and knows who she is. I truly hope she stays that way even if it means staying only halfway mainstream. It inspires me, I think I'll do a drawing her very soon.

Updates July 21st

Last night was an interesting night. I went out with my mom to one of her seminars, I learned a lot. It was nice. I also got some free doughnuts from Dunkin' Doughnuts which was awesome! We got so much we had to give some to the neighbors. I finally finished the drawing that I was working on for so long (@ the bottom). It took me about 4 or 5 days to complete that thing, but I'm very happy with the outcome of it. :) So now, like the title suggests, I'm wondering what I will be doing next? I'm going to start working on another drawing of course, so I just have to see what my new subject will be. Still working on my language studies, and I can tell I'm becoming more fluent in Portuguese! I hope to be pretty much fluent by at least December perhaps. That's my current goal. I'll get there surely (hopefully not slowly lol). My best friend is in Africa the motherland right now, and I kinda miss him. But he's over there makin meh proud so no biggie lol. I'm starting to listen more to myspace music. Ever since Imeem switch over to Myspace that's the only reason I go there now. At first they pissed me off with the switch but now it's cool I guess. I just didn't like the spur of the moment change and stuff. Anyway I'm rambling and hungry, so I think I'll end it here. Paz e Amor! ♥

Up Late Jul. 19th

I'm up wayyy too late this morning. I wanted to get in some notes about how I'm feeling right now. I'm working on several projects right now, and am having fun with them each. I have always found it a struggle to work on all of these things by myself, but I guess it's what I gotta do for now. But to be honest I really wouldn't have it any other way, because I enjoy my work, and I wouldn't have anyone else do them but me. I'm still working on getting my website. I'll have it soon, but first I'll have to get my other ish together before I'm ready to do that. I have many drawings to finish, and haven't been here at my blog for a hot minute (since April), so I feel like I should get back on here. I was a little out of inspiration in May and June for drawing or any working really, so I took a hiatus. But my muse is back (i think). I can't stay away from it too long anyway though. That's it for now, I guess.

Works in Progress are like....

... remodeling houses. From what my granddad who was a builder has always told me, it's much easier to build a new house from scratch, than to remodel an existing one. I find that is pretty much the same concept with drawings. When I start a drawing and then it comes out like crap in the middle, I stop working on it. But it's not even always the ones that are crappy. Like my Aaliyah drawing took a long time to finish, much longer than it should have. I finished that months after I started it. And there's another drawing I'm working on right now that I'm finally starting to finish up. But I started it around the same time as Aaliyah. And then it becomes a chore to finish it. But anyhow, I just had that on my mind.

Monday, Monday...

Oh yes Monday has returned. Yesterday was a deep day for me. By deep I mean, I saw some discoveries and revelations and I'm just glad we're on into a new week. Monday is my day to of course work. It's also the one day of the week I can NOT play video games. I cut myself off from video games every Monday. It's just and exercise I do. Today I'm going to continue working on a really important drawing. So far I'm happy with it. I'm also still working on my Paul Walker drawing, but that's just because I haven't been working on it since my last update on my blog.

On Saturday I went to see Clash of the Titans. To be honest it's worth a first time watch, but it wasn't all that. Having seen both versions; the 1981 version and the new one, there were a few things about the new one that sucked that I like about the old one. I'll say a little without giving away spoilers. I liked of course the Medusa fight scene, it was a bit more entertaining than the first one, and I think longer also, but in my opinion she looked a little too CG for me whereas in the first one she was played by a real actress. But the way she looked was better in the new one. Honestly that was the scene I was most anticipating watching. And Perseus.... OMG! What a loser and an idiot! If you've seen it you know what I mean, or if you haven't you will know what I mean. This guy was so stupid and he kept doing the same thing over and over again! It got to the point that I wanted him to get killed! And on that note Sam Worthington.... I know I'm trailing off here, but why is it that Hollywood has to severely saturate an actor's career? I mean I just saw Avatar last year and now I'm already seeing him in a vaguely but still similar enough movie! We couldn't get someone else to play Perseus? Sheesh! I'm tired of the guy already. And his acting was ummm pretty bad now that I think about it. It was kind of plastic.

Anyway, not much else to say about the movie, but get your own opinions of it. It was worth a first time watch though.

March 29th WIPs!

Good afternoon! Just stopping in to note on one of my current drawing projects. A drawing I'm working on for fun right now is Paul Walker. One hot man! lol He is from the Fast and Furious movies; one of which I think I will watch today ;) It's also a little project for me to test the waters with my new art pad. It's 11x14 in. so it's a bit smaller than I'm use to working with, so I want to see how I can do with it. That's it for now, I guess. I had an interesting dream last night, too much to get into though. Peace.

Drawing WIPs 3/28/10

These are two drawings that I'm working on right now. Well.... actually I'm not quite working on them anymore. They're on hiatus for now for different reasons. It's really dangerous for me to stop working on a drawing, because there's a possibility I will just leave it alone for good.

This guy is one of such situations. I can't quite figure the hair out for him. I was thinking of a curly style, then a flat top style, then eh... I don't know. So I just left it alone. It is a drawing I started of Clu from my story Black Beautie. He is a guy who she comes in contact with throughout her journey (she being the main character Koko). So anyway he is to become one of her long time friends and join the gang. I know what his appearance looks like, but I still can't figure out his hair lol.

This fella here is Joe Jonas. I'm gonna be honest. He's my guilty pleasure when it comes to guys, because he has a hotness and I have an attraction. One that I can't seem to resist. But yea I started to draw him and I don't know. I just stopped.

Precious Movie

I just saw the movie "Precious" for the first time tonight. It was definitely a powerful film. It had a lot of emotion and feeling, realism, and it managed to keep me interested in the things happening. There were soooo many good performances, of course Gabourey Sidibey was really good especially for a newbie. Mo'nique was awesome, especially in the final scene! Amazing acting, it was so realistic and heartfelt. Mariah Carey was even pretty good. I mean I didn't see it coming from her lol.

The movies is basically about a teenager black girl who is dark-skinned, overweight, and has been raped by her stepfather since she was a little girl and ultimately making two babies by him (the 2nd she gives birth to in the movie). I really truly admire how this movie didn't try to glamorize or beautify a very real problem in the black community; which is problems between mothers and daughters. Child molestation and incest of course. Teen pregnancy, obesity, skin color and issues with body image. I mean I have seen how many movies showing the drama of a teenage white girl with problems, so I'm glad that there is a good movie showing the trauma that a lot of young black women go through as well.

Some people said that the performances weren't good, and along with talking about her weight, Howard little-dick Stern and sellout-to-the-max and slave bitch co-host Robin No-Last-Name said that Gabourey's acting was terrible. Uhmm, not to me. I can't really think of any parts that she didn't make me remember that she was Precious. And since when were Howard and bitch Robin ever in a movie? I can't seem to remember any. Hmm. Weird. Okay I have to say it. Mariah was looking pretty old. Yea, she was kind of looking OVER forty, which I don't know how old she is but she looked about early to mid forties in the movie. I take it she wasn't wearing much makeup? Eh, doesn't matter.

There were a few parts in the movie that came close to tear jerking for me, but I didn't quite get there. And there were even some really side-splitting funny parts, that of course you can only get from Mo'nique lol. I would certainly recommend this movie to others and I want it on DVD.

New Megan Fox Drawing

Okay, here's the beauty of having my own blog; I can express my own opinions and say things and do things of my liking and tastes. So that being said, I present my newest drawing of Megan Fox.

I'm gay and even I think she's hot, screw the toe thumb. But I mean I've been watching an artist lately and he is definitely a Megan fan. He has a lot of drawings of her in his gallery. So maybe I caught the infection hehe.

Obviously this is no common drawing of her. I found the reference on google images and while I was working on it, I just got the idea to change it up. That ALWAYS happens when I'm working on a drawing, especially of a celebrity. Because everyone always draws them in the usual way.

Some people of course have a problem with it, or think it's inappropriate. It's been rejected from several groups on dA, because it was too mature etc. That's fine though, because it's really just creative expression. It's the same thing I did with the drawing of Christian Bale, it's just me having fun with myself (no pun intended).

Also, I think people fail to realize the agreement celebrities make when they decide to become whatever they are, actors, singers, models, or socialites. They are agreeing to having their face in the public view. Their image and themselves. They are vulnerable to all kinds of attention, whether it be good or bad. My standpoint is that as long as it's in good enough taste celebrities images are free reign. Now don't get wrong, because I feel like you should still be respectful to the point that you are not doing something like violence or death. I would never draw someone's limbs apart or someone dieing. I also wouldn't draw anything like a dead celebrity in a sexual way because well lets face it that's really creepy. But hey! How many men haven't had this fantasy?! lol If someone ever drew me in a wacky way I'd laugh. It would basically be like being parodied or caricatured. I don't think I would mind. Anyway I just wanted to say that and show my latest work.

New Art, Emotions & YouTube Video

Hey there! Back with new updates! First off, I’m going to start with my feelings. Lately I’ve been feeling pretty down for some reason. I have a theory, and I think that ever since my older brother moved in this house with us (with it already being a bit crowded), it was only a matter of time before their negativity would be infectious. I can’t stand it. I think that I’m more susceptible to negative spirits because I think I’m more spiritually conscious than most people. So my spirit is quick to react to how other are feeling. So yea, it’s just more people around than I’m use to and I can’t repel all other their negative energy. I hope this will phase out soon though.

Okay, now moving on to my minor language updates. So far I’ve met a few good people to chat with from LingQ.com! If you’re interested in learning a new language for any reason you should check the site out. I think it could be helpful and I like that it’s against the grain sort of. It’s not the standard way to learn, and I’m an unconventional-loving guy. So anyway I haven’t studied today and only a little yesterday but that’s fine. I think my emotions have contributed to that too; as WELL as my exercising which I also haven’t done lately.

Even though I’m not working on my studies as of most recently, I’m still drawing however. In fact I’ve been in drawing overload lately ^_^! I started working on a drawing of Will Smith a few days ago. It was the first one I’ve started on this year. But then I was talking to my brother and we were discussing some business strategies as far as how I could make some money from my artwork. So I’ll get more into that later. I’m also working on an Aaliyah drawing. I usually don’t like to tell or show the drawings I’m working on and instead just show them when I’m done, but I guess that will just make this the exclusive blog (until my website is up and running).

At the bottom of this post is my video that I recently uploaded to my YouTube channel I’ve had for a while now, but hardly use. I mostly use it to watch videos and listen to music. But I’m going to start posting my artwork on there as well. So until next time. Até logo, Adios, and sayonara! :)
